Memorial Day Celebs

The sports celebs had quite the Memorial Day holiday, celebrating in style and honoring the true spirit of the day.

What a weekend! It's the unofficial kickoff to summer, which means the kids are out of school. Time for family, fun, and sipping a cold one by a nice body of water, be it the pool, lake, or beach.

Let us first and foremost recognize the true meaning of Memorial Day. This day is dedicated to honoring and remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our great country, granting us the freedoms we enjoy today. I saw this post being shared across the internet and can't think of a better way to represent the meaning of Memorial Day.

A heartfelt Memorial Day message circulating on social media.

Fitness model Paige Hathaway didn't hold back her love for America in the shared post above and dropped another gem on Instagram over the weekend. What's more American than a cowgirl hat and boots?

One thing's for sure, it looks like Tom Brady is enjoying retirement life. I can't think of a better song to pair with riding the waves than this new hit by Post Malone, "I Had Some Help."

Livvy Dunne, fresh off her SI Swimsuit media tour, and her boyfriend Paul Skenes are making waves, with Paul dominating baseball with his call-up to the big leagues. Livvy was enjoying some time in Los Cabos, seemingly engaged in another glamorous photo shoot.

This was from a few weeks ago but just in time for Memorial Day. The Navy Women's Lacrosse team singing "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" by the late great Toby Keith. If this doesn't get your blood flowing, I don't know if you're truly American. This could just about make me run through a brick wall for Team USA.

Annie Agar, Miss NFL Personality herself, strutted her stuff at the great Indy 500 in Indiana over the weekend. I can't think of a better sporting event than racecars going 200+ miles per hour. And congrats to Newgarden going back-to-back at the Indy 500 with an instant-classic win.

The Atlanta Braves always do Memorial Day right and didn't miss a beat with their showing of patriotism.

Pro Surfer and social media star Anastasia Ashley rocked the red, white, and blue while enjoying the weekend on the sandy beaches.

Kristen Saban looked like she was having a great time with Dad Nick and family, spending time on the lake with the American flag and all.

Congrats to the No. 1 Tennessee Vols for beating the No. 4 Texas A&M Aggies at the SEC Tournament, clinching a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament over the weekend.

Kayla Simmons, former Marshall volleyball player and now a queen of social media, showed us her cannon of a left arm, launching the football while enjoying some time on the beach.

The PGA Tour Players always does its part to pay homage to the fallen soldiers with this beautiful patriotic post on social media.

And finally, we have the CrossFit games sharing a Memorial Day post with the Murph workout. Murph is a popular workout created by CrossFit in memory of Navy Lt. Michael Murphy, who died in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. Known as a Hero WOD (WOD = workout of the day), Murph was first posted on August 18, 2005, and is completed every year on Memorial Day by CrossFitters and Navy SEALs alike.

As we celebrate the unofficial start of summer, let us not forget the true significance of Memorial Day. It's a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifices allow us to enjoy the freedoms we hold dear. So, while we kick back and enjoy the festivities, let's take a moment to pay tribute to these heroes who made it all possible.
