Attendees of the scrimmage noted that Flagg looked dominant in multiple sequences on both ends of the court. The 17-year-old already appears to be a franchise-changing NBA prospect, even against a team full of NBA Hall of Famers.
In the end, USA Basketball narrowly survived against the Flagg-led Select Team, winning 74-73. Anthony Davis had a game-saving block in the final possession.
What Flagg accomplished in the scrimmage was quite remarkable, given that his opponents were what some are calling one of the best Team USA rosters of all time, featuring the likes of LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, and Anthony Edwards, among others. One thing is for sure: the future looks bright for Cooper Flagg at both the collegiate and professional levels.
